Vol.02 Hiromatsu Otani
Kabuki actor Hiromatsu is a long-time and loyal user of our shoes. He wears them not only on his days off, but also during performances, rehearsals, and when he travels around the country on tour. Here are some snapshots of Hiromatsu’s daily life and his favorite sneakers.
How do you style your sneakers and what do you think of via SANGACIO?
They pair well with both Japanese and Western clothes. My first "NYU" was "metallic yellow." Even though they are made with leather, they are not heavy, easy to wear and walk in, and there are many variations, so I added more and more to my collection: Tiffany blue, camouflage pattern, 5th anniversary model, and so on. I especially wear the "Skull" model a lot, and I often pair them with denim jeans.
When I walk around the countryside on tour, I am often approached by people who like "NYU," and we sometimes strike up a conversation. I enjoy the reactions I get from many people just by wearing these sneakers, but what surprised me the most was my mother's reaction. When I left the sneakers at the front door, before I knew it, my mother had bought herself a pair of the Birds and Beasts Caricatures model. By the way, they are also very popular with foreigners.
